The Weekend and (that's right) more!

We had a blast this weekend. Took the kids to Calgary for Easter with my folks and a good time was had by all. There are some good pictures and videos that I will probably post later.
Saturday morning I helped Dustin move which was actually pretty fun, and then we went to Quinns first birthday party.

The Flames got shut out last night which sucks ass, but the Oilers continue to roll and they just might make it in. Calgary has a big game tonight against the Caknucleheads.

Watched a bit of Raw last night and it kinda got me a little excited for WrestleMania. I have no idea if I am working or where I will even watch it, but I'm looking forward to it.

The new Panic at the Disco and Counting Crows come out today, been looking forward to both... Even though I have already heard them.

Evel Dick comes back into the Big Brother house tonight, I am working tonight so I have the PVR set to record it. I close all week which kinda sucks because I am gonna have to record, or miss BB and the Flames games.

Baseball season (sort of) started this morning, Oakland and the Red Sox played in Japan.... No idea who won.....

Looking forward to the new website (if it happens) Back in the day on the old site I used to put up files to download and stuff like that and I'm looking forward to doing it again if I can.

Wow, that was a lot of small paragraphs.....

So I may be returning soon to a traditional .com website thanks to the greatness that is Tyler Lewis. Fuck, I don't know if I remember any html..... This could be a disaster.

Its a Yarn

I'm watching Chantal try to learn to knit by watching YouTube videos and its the fucking funniest thing I have ever seen.

I filmed a quick clip while she wasn't paying attention... Enjoy.

Stuff and Things of that Nature

I caught bits and pieces of RAW on Monday... Glad I tuned in to see two 60 year old men have the worst street fight ever. Also, Santina Marella stealing Lawlers sandwich was funny but I'm not a huge fan of blatant product placement.

I felt the baby kick last night for the first time, it was amazing. It must feel so bizzare for Chantal to have it jumping around like that, he was quite active.

Speaking of Chantal, she has started to update her blog again, have a look here.

I listened to the new Counting Crows album while at work the other day, it's pretty good. Probably the 'rockiest' stuff they have done since Recovering The Satelites.

We're heading to Calgary this weekend to have Easter dinner with the folks. Should be fun.

The Flames lost to the BJ's last night, things are way to close for comfort and I'm concerned we may fall out of the playoffs. The Oilers are certainly making a run for it, it's going to be interesting to watch the last 9 games or so.

Time flies and more Bullshit

Holy shit, it's been like a week since I posted anything... Oh well...

Last weekend was cool despite the fact that I was sick as fuck. Friday we took the kids to the Drillers game and then Saturday we took them to the Circus. They really dug the circus and Braden got quite emotional wich was sweet and kinda weird all at the same time.

This past weekend, Chantal and I had Sunday off and no kids so we decided to have yest another pajama movie day. We take turns picking movies the other hasn't seen. I opened with:

Even if you're not a Howard fan, check this movie out. It's a great story and really funny. Chantal countered with:

It wasn't terrible, but it was light on story and fairly predictable. I didn't hate it. Plus Catherine Zeta-Jones is hot. Up next from me was:

I can't remember who turned me on to this flick the first time but I loved it then and I love it now. Go, watch. Chantal concluded the movies with:

What a hunk of shit this movie was. The plot was brutal and Keanu Reeves is like a fucking robot. Terrible... And Chantal weeping through the whole damn thing didn't help.

After that we killed time before Big Brother by watching some Office on DVD. As for BB, I hate that James dude and they were retarded for bringing him back.

I just read that Gary Hart died. Not a lot of people know him because he never had a run in WWE. Most of his good shit was in World Class. RIP.

Maybe I'll watch Raw tonight...

Fuck.

I'm sick. It sucks. I'm miserable. Fuck.

Jeff Healey apparently died of cancer which is sad, he was pretty talented. However I do love to tell Chantals Jeff Healey story. Ask her, its funny.

Apparently Patrick Swayze has cancer and there are varying reports that he is dying. That cancer is a motherfucker.

Amy Fischer was on Stern this morning and she was in the studio for about 3 minutes before Mary-Jo's daughter called in which sent Amy for the door. It was great radio.

The election has come and gone and the PC's won by a landslide which sucks hard. I admit to having been politically apathetic in the past but Chantal has gotten me more involved. 4 more years of big business and no rent control. Fuck.

PWA last weekend was fun, I ran the handheld camera which was fun but not quite as fun as drinking with Tex at the table. Surgery has taken place on his knee and now he just has to wait and rehab. I'm gonna stay away from him when he does return however, things appear to be good between us but I'm sure he hasn't forgotten me slapping him across the face.

I don't really know what the fuck is going on in the wrestling world these days outside of the PWA. This is the first WrestleMania I will be watching with no idea what the hell is going on in WWE. I downloaded Tuesday episode of ECW on the notebook so I will have something to watch after Stern is over. I will probably do a "BBB's Notebook" on it, does anyone even care about those?

Web Site

So I have been tossing around the idea of starting a full website again, and after talking to Tyler at work today it seems it may become a possibility. I used to have BigBadBoris.com, but when I didn't re-register it some company bought it. I guess they do that when domains expire for whatever reason. But I was kindly shown other similar domains I can purchase: (You will need to click the image to read them all.)
BigQualityBoris.com is my favorite....

Blog

I'm having blog issues. My blog looks like a million other peoples blogs. One of the things I liked about having my old website (bigbadboris.com) was that I could change the look around and customize it.

Apparently you can edit the HTML in blogger and I know enough to get by but I'm afraid I might screw it up. Hmmm.... What to do what to do.

I watched Artie argue with High Pitch Mike on Howard TV tonight, man I love Artie but he's on the fast track to a casket. This calander year I think. I wonder what will happen first, Artie leaves the show, or dies.

Flames are leading the Avs 2-1 in the 3rd. Crossing fingers for another win.

Two houseguests hospitalized due to “slop” diet; Amanda had a seizure after producers ignored her

Big Brother 9’s punishment food sent two houseguests, Amanda and Allison, to the hospital on Friday.

Amanda Hansen passed out and then had a seizure on the live feeds after saying, “I need sugar really bad, and they won’t let me in the DR,” The “DR” is the diary room, where contestants interact with producers, and “they” equals the producers. She then said it was “because I’m hypocglycemic. I need bread or fruit or something. I need sugar really bad, and I went in the DR and told them. … They better give me some. I think I’m going to go again.” In other words, producers apparently refused to help her until after she collapsed and had a seizure, when houseguest Josh pushed the emergency button that the houseguests later said summons police and paramedics.

Allison also had a reaction to her forced diet. “At the same time, off camera, housemate Allison Nichols, was suffering a severe allergic reaction to something she ate - causing her lips to swell,” the New York Daily News reports. “The two were treated on the scene by paramedics and then rushed to a Los Angeles hospital.”

In a statement, CBS said, “They both chose to return to the game after receiving medical clearance. Their medical conditions and course of treatment will continue to be monitored.”
Slop is the
“nutritionally fortified porridge mix” that the sadistic producers force challenge-losing houseguests to eat for a week, despite the fact that it does nothing to enhance their television show.

What a fuckin' debacle this is turning out to be, fun to watch though I guess... Here is the video:

Enciclopedia de Mascaras

Here is a scan of the cover of the magazine Grizz gave me. Tons of masks and stuff inside, I wish I could read spanish! Thanks Grizz.

Reunion?

Quite surprised to see this, I wonder who is behind the company now.....

Days and Days and Days...

Calgary was fun, we went to Costco with the folks on Saturday, a nightmare come true. I'm not a fan of grocery shopping at the best of times and Costco is grocery shopping on HGH....

Saturday night was a little get together for my nephew Logans first birthday. When all the kids get together it is fucking pandemonium. Mervie and I hit the Bow-Ho for a couple of beers before bed time.

Sunday we headed back home and stopped at South Common to check out Fatburger, I wasn't sure what to expect but it was excellent. I had a double with cheese and it was huge, and it's not even the biggest one.... One day I shall attempt their biggest offering..... and then probably die.

We finally watched Juno yesterday afternoon, I really liked it.... Not really what I expected but it was really excellent.

Last night we laid down commentary on PWA Christmas Slam, definetly check out that dvd when it is released... Some good stuff. I finally sat down and took a gander at the finished product after editing and commentary ant it's quite well done. I was worried my performance may not be up to snuff but I sound good, as do Michael Avery and Phoenix Taylor. If you haven't checked out any of the PWA's dvd offerings, do so.

I caught up on last Tuesday and Wednesdays episodes of Big Brother and I think CBS is getting what they want out of this round. Lot's of skin, arguing and drama. "Just like your dad" is the best insult in BB history.

Flames took out Minnesota last night, 4 wins in a row I believe that is now, which makes me happy. I noticed on TSN this morning they had the countdown to the trade deadline in the bottom right of the screen. 30 hours and counting.

Grizz gave me a really cool magazine from Mexico with a bunch of Lucha masks, it's really interesting. I will try and scan some stuff from it later today (I don't use the scanner nearly enough.)

Stern today has been interesting as hell... Eric the Midget was busted by the Howard 100 news team but continues to deny it, I believe this is far from over. Steve-O was on as well and he was fucking out of control.... I love my Sirius radio.

More Stuff

I am surfing the web in the comfort of my bed.... It's nice.

-TVT Records is filing for bankruptcy.

-Apparently Gene Simmons has a sex tape that has just hit the interweb with some broad who is a spokesmodel for some energy drink he shills. Good for you Gene, maybe he is the new Britney.

-March 25th is shaping up to be a sweet day for new music releases with offerings from Counting Crows, Ministry and Panic at the Disco.

-And speaking of Panic, the special edition of the new album "Pretty. Odd." looks interesting:

-Filter will release the track "Soldiers of Misfortune" later this month as the first single from their new album Anthems for the Damned. The Josh Abraham (10 Years, Velvet Revolver) produced album is set to be in stores in May. I love Filter, seriously under rated.

-Apparently Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey are behind Scott Baio's reality shows... junk.

-I'm so out of the loop, whats the deal with Floyd Mayweather? Big Show is back? Finlay vs. Vince at WM? Someone fill me in.

-I am trying to watch Supercard of Honor 2 (I think) and the dvd player keeps fucking up. It's annoying the shit out of me because there is a Dragon Gate 6 man I really wanna see. Expect a review soon, if I can get all the way through it.

-Oh yeah, and Lindsay Lohans NY Magazine photo shoot gets a big thumbs up from me.

Stuff

Heading to Calgary tommorow to visit the folks, should be fun but unfortunatly Braden can't make it but it should still be a good time.

Last night was the lunar eclipse and people were acting strangely... Maybe it's because I was tired and annoyed at work but I wanted everybody to get the fuck back inside and do something productive.

The Flames have strung together a couple of wins which is always good, Joseph got his first win in red.

Spring training is just around the corner, can't wait for baseball season.

Big Brother and Stuff...

Big Brother started last night, at first I thought the couple deal was lame but it may turn out ok and bring us some interesting conflict. I am watching episode #2 and what may annoy the shit out of me is the male macho bullshit.... Too many yound dudes who think they are hot shit.

Chantal picked me up the new Kiss biography "Kiss Behind The Mask." Its officially sanctioned by the band and me being a sometime Kiss fan, it looks pretty amazing.

The Flames scored a sweet-ass come from behind win over San Jose in overtime last night. Good shit.

Spring training is right around the corner, I am excited. Oh yeah, and Roger Clemens is a lying sack of shit.

Blah Blah Blah

So apparently going to a business mixer function where you have to wear a nametag isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Free drinks are always good and senior citizen lesbian baseball fans kick ass.

The Flames kicked ass on Saturday night, it was a fun game to watch and supper at Montanas was pretty sweet too.

And having Braden for an extra day is awesome too. We turned back on the way to Wabamun yesterday because the roads were shit. Chantal wasn't to keen on navigating them, especially after the tire exploded on Saturday.

I picked up Perfect Strangers season 1 & 2 on Friday and it is better then I remembered... Oh that Balki. Much better then all the Gilmore Girls I have been watching (don't ask.)

Big Brother 9’s cast will compete as pairs with their producer-selected “soulmates”

The cast of Big Brother 9, the show’s first winter edition, has been announced, and once again producers are handicapping contestants by pairing them up. However, this season, they’ve been matched with their alleged soulmates, and will do everything as a pair, and even be evicted in twos.

A recent CBS teaser ad said that “we’ve matched each of them with a soulmate. They’ll compete together, and if they’re not careful, be evicted together,” and that twist was confirmed on The Early Show this morning. Executive producer Allison Grodner told Julie Chen, “Your life in the house depends on this other person. You’re going to sleep in the same bed together, you’re going to compete together, hold the Head of Household together, get nominated together, and ultimately get evicted together.”

The cast consists of nine men and seven women, which means there is one gay male couple. Since they compete in pairs, and assuming one couple is eliminated each week, that means the show will only last about eight weeks, including the first non-elimination week. Of course, the producers might also decide to split them up at some point.

Grodner suggested that the houseguests won’t initially know about the twist. “Each houseguest filled out a love match profile as part of their application,” Julie Chen explained, and Grodner said, “16 singles living in a house suddenly discover that their perfect love match is sitting right next to them.”

“Perfect love match”? Is she kidding? Who on planet Earth would trust these often-sadistic, ratings-obsessed producers to find their true loves? Of course, if they failed to find good matches, that’ll probably make even better television as the couples fight yet are forced to stick together.

The cast includes a former Penthouse pet, a paparazzo, and a guy who says he’s homeless because he’s traveling the world on his bike. TV Guide has a slideshow showing all 16 and their ages and occupations. Ultimately, they seem familiar, and Grodner didn’t do much to engender confidence that this cast will be any different than those from past seasons, saying “these people are over the top, some amazing characters.”

Meanwhile, The Early Show also included footage of the new house, which on the exterior appears to be a secluded mountain cabin. But while some rooms continue that theme, others are completely different and random, like a tropical, surfing-themed bedroom and a rather plain-looking HOH room.

Other details about the house were revealed this week online. To generate some free publicity, producers let a group of people in the house for a day, intrepid journalists like CBS-owned The Insider’s Cheryl Woodcock, Fox Reality and Road Rules’ Mark Long, and Kimberly Caldwell of the TV Guide Channel. Like the others, she produced journalism that sought to reveal critical information to the public (“I even tasted slop, which is just like vomit”) and demonstrated solid journalistic objectivity and integrity (“I’m not just a huge fan of Big Brother — I’m a huge psycho fan!”).

This sounds uber-lame but I'm sure I will watch every minute....

And The Beat Goes On....

I went to the Oilers/Sharks game with a bunch of the guys the other night, I was quite the sickening display of hockey. So sickening that I have become sick. I don't know what's going on but it feels like my insides are coming out. My head hurts like a bitch because I'm so dehydrated because all the water I'm drinking is going right through me. Sorry for being gross but it sucks.

Luckily the Flames came through and beat the Sharks last night, and according to TSN they may be close to signing Pheneauf which is awesome news.

Monday, January 28, 2008

Oh yeah....

One more thing.....

Hey Chris, thanks for the well wishes from you and your lady friend. She seems pretty cool. Maybe we can get together or something next time we're in town.

The Weekend

And what a weekend it was. On Friday we took the kids to the Drillers home opener. Now I'm not a big fan of soccer but I really enjoyed it, especially since they played the team from Calgary, which I always get behind. Calgary United FC got their asses kicked 10-4 but it was fun. Looking forward to going back in March, if not sooner.

Saturday we all went shopping, thanks to bonus time. We got the first thing for the new baby, a stroller/car seat that is cool and has the Chantal-required cup holder. The kids did really well, especially seeing as I didn't look at the prices of the fucking toys they picked. I don't know who the fuck Ben 10 is but they love it. I also got a little tiny Bobby Lashley figure that I forgot to give to Dustin last night.

Saturday night we decided to have a "sleepover pajama party" in the living room being that we all got new jammied. The kids each got Pokemon jammies and Chantal got an awesome Flames night shirt. I got Playboy bottoms that are the most uncomfortable fucking things I have ever worn.

We watched the Empire Strikes Back. Now, it is incredibly frustrating trying to explain to Chantal how Star Wars works. The first star wars is episode 4. And then the ones that came out in the 90's were prequals. Episode 1 was in 1999. Simple as that.

We heard about the blizzard on Friday and it wasn't supposed to hit until Sunday at about noon so we figured we would get up Sunday at about 9 and hit the road about 930 to take Braden back to Wabamun. Unfortunatly we got up at 9 and it was full-fledged fucking blizzard-mania. So it was a white-knuckled drive to Wabamun to bring Braden back to his mom.

Now on our way back into town we decided to go have breaky at Dennys because we were all starving, we got there and the wait was over an hour so we said fuck it and went to McDonalds. During the trip we get a call from Chantals mom asking if we wanted to come over for chili and to help roll change. We said sure, why not and we headed over. Now I figured helping roll change was just a few bucks in change or whatever. Little did we know that we got there and Chantals mom and her boyfriend Chris had been throwing all their change into jars for 2 fucking years and they had tons. We counted up when we finished and they had (I shit you not) two thousand fucking dollars in change. It weighed a ton. But it was all good because I always had a Caeser in my hand and it was good times.

After that it was off to Dustins for the Royal Rumble. It was a good time as usual, talking shit with all the boys and watching the show. From what I actually paid attention to, the show was good and the big surprise was the return of Cena. The WWE did the near impossible by keeping his return a secret and continue feeding false information that he wouldn't return until summer.

I have a ticket to go to the Oilers/Sharks game tommorow which should be fun. Anyway, that's the latest.

Stuff

Trying to remember what the fuck has been happening lately.

Sunday night after the store closed it was game night. It was pretty impressive, a bunch of the guys brough in their gear and out Home Theatre department was turned into game land. It was a lot of fun playing Rock Band with everyone.

Speaking of Rock Band, it is pretty fun but the drums are taking some getting used to. I can't seem to play "Black Hole Sun" on hard.

The Flames play the Wild tonight, their only game in 11 days so I hope to fuck they win.

Heath Ledger died today. I don't really know all that much about him but that he is going to be the new Joker. Anyway, its a shame when someone that young and talented wastes it.

The new set on Raw last night was pretty cool. No idea what the hell is going on though. When did Jeff Hardy become a main eventer?

Stuff

So I bit the bullet and bought Rock Band today. Well actually Chantal bought it and I will pay her for it on Friday. I'm stuck and work and I'm bummed out because I wanna go home and try it.

The Flames killed LA last night 6-1, they have a pretty fucked up schedules. Tuesdays game against Minnesota is their only game for 11 days. Pretty bizarre.

Don't Forget Who's Taking You Home.....

So last night was the Michael Buble concert. Chantals been looking forward to it since she got the tickets at Christmas and asked me to go with her.

I didn't know what to expect but I have to say it was a great show and I had a really good time. His band was incredible and he had little bits prepared and really put on a good show. I'm glad I went.

Flames got back into the win column the other night against Minnesota (and I didn't have to get my own pie....) Interested to see when Cujo will get his first start.

Filter

I read this today and it brought me much joy:

Filter is close to finishing a new album, Anthems for the Damned, and will be releasing the album sometime between April and May.

Richard Patrick, frontman of Filter, told mtv.com in November of 2007, "I'm not straying from that classic Filter sound, but, because I'm a little older and a little wiser, [the sound has] definitely evolved. The first two or three songs are just straight-up industrial powerhouses, and then it goes into the huge-sounding stuff that people are kind of familiar with."

A source close to the band has said that the new album will feature a line-up of contributors and that Patrick is currently getting members together for the live shows.

I thought they were done and I'm excited to hear the new stuff. Check out their last 2 (especially Title of Record) they are very underrated.

Spring Training

Pitchers and Catchers report in 28 days baby!!!!

Blue Harvest

I just watched the Family Guy Blue Harvest dvd (Why is it called Blue Harvest anyway?)

This is of course, their Star Wars remake. It was pretty good but shorter then I thought it would be. My only complaint was that some of the jokes were a little "hackey."

Watch it and let me know what you thought.

Calgary Flames agree to terms with veteran goaltender Curtis Joseph

CALGARY - Curtis Joseph is headed back to the NHL.

The 40-year-old goaltender agreed to terms on a US$1.5-million, one-year contract with the Calgary Flames on Monday, a source told The Canadian Press.

Since a little more than half of the season is already gone, he'll earn about $650,000 for the rest of the year.

A Flames spokesman would not confirm the signing Monday and said the team had no announcement at this point.

Joseph, who led Canada to a Spengler Cup title late last month, is one NHL victory shy of tying Terry Sawchuk for fourth all-time on the goalie career win list at 447.

Joseph went 18-31-2 with a 3.19 goals-against average and .893 save percentage with the Phoenix Coyotes last season.

He's 446-341-95 in 913 NHL regular-season games with St. Louis, Edmonton, Toronto, Detroit and Phoenix.

The Flames need to give star No. 1 goalie Miikka Kiprusoff a breather once in a while in the second half of the season. He's started in 45 of 46 games while rookie Curtis McElhinney has started just once.

The New York Rangers were also believed to be in the running for Joseph's services before he ultimately decided to join with the Flames.

Stuff and Shit....

We decided to take the kids to Calgary for the weekend to see grandma and grandpa. I felt like shit and still do but we had fun. Did a little shopping and my mom made lasagne which was awesome and then later Saturday we got Gondola Pizza. It was "The Boss" pizza and it was killer. Anyway, we had fun.

Last night we hit The Keg for supper which was also awesome. (I talk about food a lot....)

In 2 weeks we were thinking of taking the kids to Jasper but we can't seem to find a hotel room. If anyone has connections or knows a way we can get a hotel room please let me know.

The Flames are on a bit of a skid and dropped one to the Oilers last night which I'm sure I will hear all about when I get to work.

We watched the Triumph and Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling last night which was as depressing as I expected. It must be hard for Kevin to recount all that stuff but he got through it like a trooper. I've heard if you watch the shoot interviews of a lot of the guys that were around back then you hear a lot more about the dark side of that promotion then you will oviously hear about in a WWE-made documentary. And there was quite a dark side if there is any truth behind some of the things I have read.

I also bought the 2nd volume of JCW Slam TV. They certainly shelled out some cash to bring in a lot of big names for the shows on this go 'round. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Ultimo should be good. Still waiting for the WSX dvd's to turn up around here somewhere.

Stuff

I watched disc 3 of the Best of Raw XV tonight and when I came across the segment where Eugene has a group play musical chairs for a title shot, I realized that I'm sure back in '03 I hated it but it was damn funny now.

But on to other business, I think the temporary home for the potential internet TV show will be over on my video blog (http:..3btv.blogspot.com). Right now it is the home of videos I hae put up on Dailymotion, stuff I find interesting such as wrestling, music and overall zaniness.

Also, I have decided that the show will feature an advice segment..... A segment entitled "Ho Ass Help." So kids, sharpen your pencils and send any questions to "Dr. Ho" to bbboris@shaw.ca.

.....I know, you all think I'm nuts but I'm gonna make this happen.

-Savage is hilariously brutal on commentary.

-Bret and Waltmans match was pretty great as well.

-Lawler and William Shatner was well done.

-Nice little tribute to Owen.

-Goldust giving Ahmed Johnson mouth to mouth was a tad disturbing....

-Ah the Pillman gun angle. The classics never die.

-Haha the original ECW Invasion segment is taken right from the "Rise and Fall" dvd.

-Owen and Bulldogs Euro-title match was very good.

-Wow, I forgot what great shape Austin was in in 1997.

-Bret screwed Bret......

-Disc 1 was greas success.

-It's odd seeing Tony Schiavone doing WWF events.

-"The fans are whacking away".... "The 2 teams are feeling each other out"... Man, the Rougeaus and The Bushwhackers has a lot of homoerotic undertones.....

-The Bushwhackers are quite over.

-Only DiBiase could use the word "Gestapoism" into a promo.

-A battle of PWA alumni, Brutus vs. The Genius.

-Poffo plays gay very well, almost too well......

-A double DQ? These 2 need to settle this at Night of Champions 2008!

-Valentine and Ronnie Garvin was an interesing match. Submission matches were pretty rare back then.

-Brother Love! Sweet. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE YOOOOOOOOU!!!

-The late Saphire. "Tons of fun" as Jesse the Body would say.

-Good lord, what the fuck is the Warrior talking about?

-Fuck Jake was good.

-What the hell is on Neidharts head?

-It's Rumble time! DiBiase drew #1, Koko is #2.

-Koko is out, up next is Jannetty.

-Jannetty is out, up next is Jake. Wow, he's over huge.

-Piper is a house of fire!

-The Red Rooster..... Sigh......

-Akeem looks retarded.

-Hogan and the Warrior are the final two.

-Oh wait, they aren't. Nevermind....

-Wow, I was way off. Serves me right for falling asleep during the damn Rumble.

-Hogan, Rude and Perfect are the final 3.

-Rude is out..... And Hogan is Hulking up!!!!!

-And Hennig is out, Hogan wins. I for one am shocked......

TV

So I always joke around with coworkers that my potential is being wasted doing what I do for a living.

So in discussing this I have decided to take matters into my own hands and myself and some other interested parties are going to start an internet TV show. Short "webisodes" full of stuff that makes us laugh. And if it makes us laugh maybe it will make you laugh as well.

Nothing fancy, just low-fi entertainment in a bite sized package.

I have no timeline for when we will start, but hopefully you will see something sooner then later.

BBB's Notebook: The Hardcore Diaries by Mick Foley

Well, I'm sure I am in the minority, but on the whole I don't think this was a very good book.

Its not totally without merit, the story of the buildup to One Night Stand was quite enthralling, and to be honest it was the only part of the book that wasn't throw-away to me.

A lot of it seemed very self-serving and tried too hard to be humorous.

The amount of name dropping was staggering and there was a definite political agenda as well that I could have done without.

Maybe I look for something different in a "wrestling book." What it can teach me, what I can learn about the business and what I can learn about certain performers but I don't think I really learned anything, but perhaps that wasn't the point.

I do however enjoy the recounting of certain events that I can go back and watch tapes and dvd's of and see it from a different perspective.

I guess I just didn't get what I was looking for out of this one.

BBB's Notebook: ECW 12/18/07

I haven't watched ECW since about September so I have no idea what's cookin'. Here we go.......

-Morrison and The Miz are tag champs? Fuck I am out of it...

-Shannon Moore looks relatively normal.... Is he on Smackdown now?

-Yang is underrated.

-Wow, Yang and Moore vs. Morrison and Miz was really good.

-Benjamin destroyed that jobber.... What's his deal, the gold standard? Is he on ECW full time now?

-Kofi Kingston.... Interesting.

-Victoria is with Kenny Dykstra? I don't like all these SD guys on ECW. Its stripping the show of its identity.

-Nunzio the elf.......?

-Dykstra's leap to the top was impressive, but its the only part of the match I will remember.

-Punk vs. MVP was good, didn't like the dq finish but it made sense considering the circumstance.

-A Punk/Chavo feud could produce some quality matched.

The show was good but the "Smackdown Talent Exchange" kind of dilutes the feel and identity of the show.

Stern

Listening to The Best of Stern 2007 right now, everyone need to listen to Stern.

Even if just to blow out what you think the show is all about. He is the best celebrity interviewer on the fucking planet.

Stuff

Looking through my Xmas gifts, I got some pretty cool shit.

We watched disc 1 of Robot Chicken season 2 and its fucking hilarious. The Gene Simmons book looks really interesting and I can't wait to dig in to Brets. I have way too many books on the go, I am reading Foleys latest (I am not impressed) and then there Mondo Lucha and the Stampede one and then all the new stuff.

Chantal is playing Raymans Raving Rabbits, its fun watching her play video games, especially Guitar Hero.

Bhutto

When the fuck will this end..... When will the world realize that it is futile to keep up this pace of nonsense and bullshit.

I don't claim to be a genius or overly knowledgeable about world events but I'm not an idiot either. Its only a matter of time before some country has the balls to begin using nuclear weaponry.

I have a feeling something really bad is coming, and soon.

Christmas, Boxing Day and beyond

Well Christmas and Boxing Day have come and gone and thank fucking god.

Christmas was really sweet this year, I must have been a good boy because I got spoiled.

The big gift from my lady love was a new drum kit which absolutly blew my mind. They won't be in until late January but I have a picture and a list of the specs and it's so fucking cool. With the fancy schmancy new scanner maybe I will scan the photo and put it up here.

The second big gift from Chantal was a beautiful leather jacket, I totally love it.

Among the rest of the gifts were:

Flames lava lamp
Flames towel
Ripleys Believe it or Not calander
The Bret Hart book
The Gene Simmons book
RVD ECW figure
Dawsons Creek Season 1 (Yeah that's right, fuck you!)
Robot Chicken season 2
Die Hard 4
Flames bar set (really cool!)
Xbox dvd remote
New Vans
A Really sweet black Roy Halladay Jays jersey
An awesome new Flames hat

I was totally spoiled.

As for boxing day, it was a 12 hour shift of Mayhem. It was tiring but boxing day is totally fun every year. I'm paying the price for the past few weeks as I'm feeling totally run down but such is the time of year.

Scanner

So I realized that the printer that we bought a few months ago is also a scanner so I thought I would give it a try....

Not bad for a first try, this could be pretty cool.....

Christmas and Shit....

Where to begin. It is December 24th, work has been havoc for weeks. I am fucking exhausted and crabby and have to be there at 1 AM on boxing day. Oh well, it pays the bills.

Chantal is pretty sick right now, she caught a stomach bug or something and that combined with the pregnancy she is in rough shape. I feel guilty because with all the work stress I guess I'm not as empathetic as I should be. I am really sorry about that.

Jonnys Christmas concert was last week, it was pretty fun to watch as that stuff usually is. We couldn't make it to Bradens which is something else I really feel bad about.

Flames have lost 2 in a row but they were both OT losses so I think they have points in the last 9 or 10 games which is pretty sweet.

Going to try and get some time to watch last weeks ECW as I heard there was a solid tag match and I haven't seen the show since around September.

The Dolphins won, miracle of all miracles.

Anyway, have a good Xmas everyone, I hope Santa brings you all something nice.

And the Band Played on...

Had the kids this weekend and it was Jonny Birthday Party and this year we went bowling. It was pretty fun, a little nerve-wracking at times when there are that many screaming kids around but it was a success. (I felt a little awkward after I was rold by Chantal that I was the only adult that was bowling but oh well....)

The Flames have awoken from slumber with 5 wins in a row.... Hopefully they can keep it up.

The Mitchell report hit hard and named at least one player from every MLB team as a steroid or P.E.D. user, including Grag Zaun, my favorite Jay. And fuck Roger Clemens.

Among the big names are:

RogerClemens
AndyPettitte
JasonGiambi
BarryBonds
RafaelPalmeiro
BrianRoberts
MiguelTejada
EricGagne
GarySheffield
JuanGonzalez
KenCaminiti
TroyGlaus
LennyDykstra

BBB's Notebook: WWE RAW XV Anniversary

I don't watch Raw all that much anymore but I've heard a lot about this here and there and am quite interested in it so here we go......

-I dug the old Raw openings, brought back memories.

-I see this Hornswoggle nonsense is continuing.

-Wow, Sunny tightened up a lot. Nice job.

-"Moolahs Funeral" Tasteless? Or a tribute?

-Muckah Singh!!! Best RAW ever!!!

-Well, the opening segment was interestong to say the least.

-Ladder match was decent, pretty weak spot to finish it.

-The Raw flashbacks were pretty cool.

-RVD?? Nice!!! Wow, that's a squash.

-Fuck, seems like a lot of commercials.

-They really fucked the Evolution segment.

-Molly's looking good as well.

-They dropped the ball on Hogans music.

-The Hogan segment was lame.

-That bedpan to the head still makes me giggle.

-The Fink!!! I love Finkel.

-The Goon? Oh Grizz must be in heaven.

-Gillberg!! Too funny.

-Dibiase.... The hits keep on coming.

-Battle Royal was a tad on the cheese side.

-The Kane and Lita cutscene was a riot.

-Crowd was dead for Kennedy and Jannety.

Well, it was a lot of fun to watch. Its amazing to think of 15 years of Raw and how much the business has changed in that time. Huge conpanies have come and gone, triumphs and tragedies but Raw has pretty much always been the benchmark for the wrestling business. I guess the countdown now begins to RAW XX.

Its Monday......

Life rolls on.... Friday night Chantal took me for dinner in Chinatown at Pagolac (I hope I spelled that right.) It was awesome. Best spring rolls I have ever had.

Saturday night we watched Benny and Mels baby Quinn. He is cute as fuck and he really seems to like me as he stops crying whenever I show up. Made me really look forward to our upcoming bundle of joy.

This weekend was nuts at work, the store is shredded but we moved a ton of product and I have some fantastic people working under me. Can't say enough good things about them.

Flames won last night, let's put a streak together boys.

We had a good time in Calgary last weekend but unfortunatly I got a call yesterday from my mom saying that Merv fell on his wrist and messed it up pretty badly. Get well soon Mervy!!

Corbett is the Fucking Man

(I want to do a "Behind the Music" on this clip and explain the real deal behind the scenes.....)

Flames vs. Pens

Well, we didn't win but we got a point and held Crosby off the score sheet. Nice job Dion!

BBB's Notebook: NWF Blood Wars

This is an old tape I picked up along the way somewhere, its dated 1992 but it drips 80's.

Its kinda documentry style and it focuses for the most part around DC Drake and his heel turn and feud with Jules Strongbow and others. Its so terrible its awesome.

There are clips of Abby and Brody intermixed, if the whole feature was about them it would have been killer.

Quote of the Day

"I could watch a chick just as hot as Posh Spice, or hotter fucking a camel" - Artie Lange, discussing watching a fashion show versus watching porn.

BBB's Notebook: Heartbreak and Triumph The Shawn Michaels Story

Fuck I love the WWE documentry style dvd's. They take their stories, which are already filled with emotion and drama and every emotion under the sun, and inject just that much more emotion to make the stuff of legend.

This case I'm sure it was almost too easy for WWE to do this I'm sure, as the story of Shawn Michaels is quite well known.

This dvd covers it all, mid-south, the AWA and the rollercoaster of WWE. Shawns drug use is frankly discussed, Montreal is gone through (again.....) And every other topic.

I thought they handled his discovery of religion very well, as its a touchy subject and it could have become quite preachy.

I haven't watched the extras yet and I probably won't because I don't have the time (although apparently there are several matches never available on dvd before)

Pick it up.

Bash at the Beach

Eric Bischoffs book inspired me to watch Bash at the Beach 2000 again, featuring the now-famous Vince Russo shoot on Hogan.

Fuck, what a terrible show. Vampiro and the Demon in a graveyard match? Miss Hancock and Daphne? Buff? Goldber? Terrible.

The Russo episode still holds up though. I remember watching it live and being pretty shocked and that feeling came back again. One of the more infamous moments in wrestling history.

WrestleChristen Concludes

Had a good time in Calgary, the christening was good (I think) and it was good to see all the family even though having ALL the kids together can be a little trying.

I did however have an awesome supper Saturday, my mom pulled out all the stops with turkey, stuffing, cabbage rolls, the works. It was awesome.

Too bad the Flames lost.... Again.

WrestleChristen Continues.....

Just getting ready to go to the Christening, PWA on Friday was a pretty solid show with a lot of goings on including:

-The return of Brady Roberts.

-Dusty Adonis came up short in a loser leaves PWA match against Scotty Putty. Dusty is one of the most talented and entertaining guys we have had in PWA in quite some time, he will be missed.

-Drew Dalby fired Lucas Drago from Team Esteem after Drago inadvertantly cost his team to lose to Punishment and Strife.

-Dalby the subsequently had his head shaved by Brutus the Barber Beefcake, much to the delight of Mr. Drago.

-In the main event, Marky Mark, Phoenix Taylor and Michael Avery took it to the limit in a TLC match for the Mayhem Title. The dvd of this will be a must see as these 3 athletes risked life abnd limb and pulled out all the stops to win the strap, the untimate victor being Phoenix Taylor. It was pretty incredible.

WrestleChristen

Well, I am currently at NAIT waiting for Christmas Slam to begin, to officially launch the WrestleChristen weekend.

Tommorow morning all 4 of us are on the way to Calgary for my nephews christening. I have no idea what that is but we're invited so away we go.....

BBB's Notebook: Controversy Creates Cash by Eric Bischoff and Jeremy Roberts

I have no idea why but I loved this book. Almost as good as the Dynamite Kids book but not nearly as depressing.

Its in Bischoffs own words so there is a lot of revisionist history but its still a great read I highly recommend.

He doesn't pull punches and gave a lot more credit to others then I thought. He also had some surprisingly harsh words for folks like Bill Watts and Sean Waltman and others.

Bischoff had an interesting take on the demise of WCW as well as why the purchase by himself and Fusient Media Ventures.

Anyhow, I recommend checking it out.

Up next I will be reading Foleys latest book and then I purchased Pain and Passion (The history of Stampede Wrestling) and I'll be reading that.

I have a bunch of new Dragon Gate on the way that I'm pretty pumped about.

BBB's Notebook: TNA iMPACT! Thanksgiving Edition

-I haven't watched TNA in a long time so here goes.

-The opening video was killer, the Angle dinner scene was horrible.

-The TNA Turkey Bowel? I see TNA hasn't stopped making their tournament-style ideas mega confusing.

-I don't like Sabins new gear.

-Who the fuck is relic? And he sucks for ripping off Mutas mask.

-When did Scott Hall get so tight with Psychopathic Records?

-Oilers are losing, junk. (Changed the channel during a commercial.

-I see Traci Brooks still has huge boobs.

-The Angle family dinner reeks of the old Smackdown Thanksgiving dinner segments they has when SD was on Thursday nights. (Eric Young at the kids table was funny though.) The food-fight is inevitable.

-Havoc is back as Jonny Devine and I see they aren't too concerned with covering his stabbing scar anymore.

-Velvet Sky? Angelina Love? They all sound like porn stars.....

-Why does ODB keep smacking herself in the tits?

-Wow... The TNA Knockouts...... Fucking terrible.

-I wish I could fast forward live tv.

-I never realized how thick the ropes are on the TNA ring.

-Joe, Styles and Sabin was awesome.

-AJ in the turkey suit was actually kinda funny.

-My girlfriend just said the most disturbing thing I have ever heard: "I am in love with Tomko."

-Not a bad show, but the usual TNA lameness was present.

Quote of the Day

"He's the Great Muta of barf." - Larry Rivera.

The Best Radio On Radio....

The new Sirius Radios came in today and they are cool-ass!! They have the same LCD screen as the Stilettos, I want one!!

Of course, if I got one I would have to get a new boombox as well, being the new radios aren't compatible with the old boomboxes.

The backlight is starting to go on my Sportster so now is as good a time as any I guess......

I Just Realized...

....I am buying too many books.

BBB's Notebook: The History of TNA Year 1

While it's not up to the standards of the WWE documentry-style dvd, it was quite enjoyable.
I thought they could have gone into more details of the planning phase of the company but with only an hour and change of time to use, what can you do. They did spend a lot of time discussing the first show and the problems that came up including "Cheex" breaking the ring minutes before they went live.

I thought Dixie Carter and Panda Energy came along much after year one but apparently it was quite early in the existence of TNA. I also found it quite interesting that although they showed a couple of clips of him, they didn't discuss Vince Russo at all, and also very little discussion of Jerry Jarrett.

Sweet

A sudden outburst of generosity has befallen my girlfriend which is pretty sweet for me.

Last night she picked me up the new Nine Inch Nails cd, the TNA Year One dvd (which I am sitting down to watch right now) and the Bob and Doug McKenzie Two-Four Anniversary dvd.

Finally watched Transformers yesterday, it was pretty amazing.

Big Brother 9 won’t have America’s Player but “will be different from any other” season

The upcoming winter season of Big Brother 9 will not contain last summer’s twist America’s Player, which allowed the producers to control the game and act arbitrarily while generating revenue from text message votes.

“That’s really hard to do twice. Anyone coming to be a part of ‘Big Brother’ this year would know about it and we’d hate to have people act differently because they think that the viewers are in control. … That doesn’t mean that it couldn’t return in some other way, but doing exactly what we did again, no,” executive producer Allison Grodner told the New York Daily News.
However, she says viewers should expect something different. “We really want it to stand out. We want it to be special, because we’ve never done something like this before. I promise you it will be different from any other ‘Big Brother’ you’ve ever seen.” Hey, maybe you could
not manipulate the outcome to fit your narrative?

Casting for the new season starts this weekend, but Grodner says that the debut date is uncertain. “We have been told by CBS to get ready for anything, so there’s nothing that is certain at this point. It is a wait-and-see. We are preparing for anything,” she said.

The Latest, Greatest and Lamest

Busy days as is becoming the usual....

Worked 2 overnights this week which was great to get a lot of shit done but really fucked with my system. I need to start taking some vitamins or something because I'm always so tired.

We went shopping at the mall where Chantals office is and because she is too nice to me she picked me up some dvd's. She got me the new John Cena set, I know I know.... Its John Cena but over the last year or so he's been the go to guy and has been putting on some hot matches. And being that I haven't been able to watch too much wrestling lately I hope I can see some of the stuff I missed.

She also got me the re-release of XPW's Baptized in Blood 1 and 2. I think its kinda hilarious that XPW is re-releasing all this stuff. Some of it is brutal but its not all totally without merit. I also picked up XPW TV season 1. I remember watching XPW tv on America One online many years ago so this will be a trip down memory lane, for better of worse.

Saturday I went to Amber and Richards to watch UFC 78 and boy did it suck. I haven't really followed MMA for many years and I know its changed a lot but this show blew.

We had the kids this weekend which is always good even though they make us nuts sometimes.

Last night was the annual Best Buy Christmas Party at Kelsys. I don't really like the way we do our party but BB have a deal with Kelsys and they like to pretty much suck the fun out of everything we do. We still had fun though and I won a copy of Mad TV season one which was cool. I've wanted to pick up the early Mad TV stuff to see Artie.

I goofed around with the camera and took some pictures on the way home from the party that I will post later.

To Whom it may Concern

Word is Rock Band has been delayed in Canada until 12/17.

BBB's Notebook: ROH 'Driven' pay per view

-We are live (kinda) from Chicago, Dave Prazak is your ring announcer.

-Delirious is fucking awesome.

-Opening match was hot, reminded me why I love wrestling. No Remorse Corps was fucking sweet.

-Pop for Aries was ridiculous. Cut a nice promo.

-Giant Swing? Nice job Claudio.

-Man, Sydal and Castagnoli pulled out some crazy shit!!

-Post-match with Sweeney and Matt Sydal went a little long.

-Marafuji and Whitmer was good, nothing groundbreaking. I assume they are burying Whitmer for storyline reasons......

-Brent Albright destroyed Pelle Primeau. Fucking brutal.

-Mark Briscoe appears to be missing some choppers.

-Steen and El Generico vs. The Briscoes was epic.

-My fucking Xbox stopped being able to read my dvd right before Jimmy Rave and Morishima. Fuck.

-Ok, put the dvd on my notebook and I'm back in business..... And I can watch in bed!

-Rave and Morishima was.... There.

-I quite enjoy Adam Pearce's promos.

-Holy fuck, Danielson and Nigel Mginnis was fucking amazing.

CBS holding 15 Big Brother 9 casting calls over the next three weeks

With Big Brother 9 set to debut in the early part of 2008, CBS is launching a series of 15 open casting calls for cast members.

The casting notices specifically mention the ninth season, and thus the possiblity that the show could feature celebrities seems to be less likely now—unless the house will be stocked with both real people and whatever D-list celebrities would subject themselves to the expereince

In a casting notice specifically for Sunday’s open call in New York, producers say they want “attractive males and females ages 21 to 60, must be fun and outgoing and energetic. ‘characters’ a must, and NY accents are a plus !” Capitalization and proper sentence punctuation is apparently unnecessary.

Quote(s) of the Day

"I've always wanted to see senior citizen dykes polevaulting"

"I think one of those chicks is my dad"

-Chantal, both while watching The Amazing Race.

Movie Day Continued

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was quite the chick flick but it wasn't totally without merit. After that, my pick was High Fidelity, one of my favorite movies. Chantal seemed to enjoy it too.

Now we are watching the Amazing Race.

As Borat would say, movie day has been Great Success!

Movie Day

Today is the second annual movie day, Where Chantal and I hang out in our pajamas and take turns picking movies the other hasn't seen.

I went first and chose Clerks because she hasn't seen it and everyone should see Clerks. She didn't care for it much, what can I say... You can't teach good taste :-).

Her first pick was Blue Crush, a chick-surfer movie. It was ok, some of the visuals looked really incredible. Hawaii looks like an amazing place. All the chicks in the flick had small boobs which was a tad of a bummer.....

My next choice was Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. I love that movie, but Chantal didn't care for it again, but said it was better then Clerks.

The Stamps play the Riders this afternoon, hopefully I will be able to catch a little bit of it later.

Chantals next pick is Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants... Sweet fucking lord....

Bullet Points of Goodness

-HIM was an awesome show but greatly overshadowed by the greatness that is Drew. He re-invented rock and took it home to his mom.

-The Flames are mired in a pit of suck.

-The Stamps shall break Ridervilles hearts on Sunday

-Had to miss the show tonight because of work. Crud.

-Work Sucks.

-Chris Masters was released, Quel suprise.....

-Raw vs. Smackdown 2008 comes out next week, should be cool.

-I forget everything else I wanted to say.... Fuck.
