PWA Saturday Night

Well, things didn't go exactly according to plan Saturday night at NAIT. We went in with designs on becoming #1 contender to the PWA title.... What we ended up with was a loss on our record and I ended up with a fucking headache. Have a look here.

ECW on Sci Fi 08/22/06 Review

Extreme Bikini Contest: Torrie Wilson vs. Kelly Kelley - Torrie goes first and when it's Kelly's turn Mike Knox and Test come out to stop her which brings Dreamer and Sandman to the ring which leads to...

The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer and Torrie Wilson def. Kelly Kelly, Mike Knox and Test - Someone needs to tell Kelly that if you are in a tag match you need to stand on the ring apron. Decent match that ends with Dreamer DDT'ing Knox for the win.

Backstage Paul E hypes up Big Show for his rematch with Sabu but is worried. Show says Sabu is out of his element and he is a walking weapon.

Matt Striker vingette. He is our teacher, we are uneducated blah blah blah.

Extreme Rules: Kevin Thorn def. Balls Mahoney - Started slow but finished ok. Arial stops Balls from using his chair by biting his leg, chair gets kicked into Balls face and then a version of an Ace Crusher for the win.

Another Shannon Moore vingette... Getting old....

CM Punk def. CW Anderson - Short but decent. Punk wins with the Anaconda vice.

Trailer for The Marine. Looks so fucking bad.

Backstage Heyman is talking to someone. Saying he understands this person has been held back due to his violent reputation.... Camera pulls back and it's Sparly Plugg, er, I mean Hardcore Holly. Pauley tells him to make an impact.

Rob Van Dam def. Danny Doring - Basically a squash, after the match Holly comes out and destroys them both with a chair.

Renee Dupree vingette, he's extreme.

Big Show def. Sabu by Disqualification - After a ref bump Sabu goes table and chair and weapong crazy untill he gets dq'd after hitting Show with the bell knocking him over the top rope through a table. Show bleeds buckets.

RAW Thoughts #2

I really dig the WWE 24/7 "This Week in Wrestling History" segment. If only Shaw would get off their asses....

RAW Thoughts #1

Gee... Chris Masters looks a lot smaller.... Hmmm...

MTV star arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting 2 young girls

LAKEWOOD - An MTV reality star was arrested at a local skate park Friday after accusations of sexual assault were reported.

Reality TV star 'Don Vito' or Vincent Margera, 50, was arrested Friday evening shortly after 8 p.m. outside the Denver Woodward Skatepark at the Colorado Mills Mall, according to Lakewood police.

Police said Margera is accused of touching two 12-year-old girls inappropriately after an autograph session at the skate park.

The skate park was holding a meet and greet event featuring 'Don Vito' and 'Glomb' from MTV's Viva La Bam reality TV show. Roughly 60 people came to the event.

A friend of one of the victims told 9NEWS that she talked with one of the 12-year-olds and she sounded scared while talking to mall security.

Jim Shires of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department said Margera is being charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child. Shires also told 9NEWS he will be held on zero bond until he appears in court. He is currently at the Jefferson County Jail.

Bam Margera, Vincent Margera's nephew, made him famous on his show Viva La Bam. The MTV reality show followed the life and practical jokes of Bam and his friends and family.

Vincent Margera has also appeared on MTV's Jackass and various movies and commercials.
Margera will be advised of his charges in court Monday at 10 a.m.

Apparently on Radio Bam on Monday night, Bam said that they are only after his money (and he has none) and that Don Vito is very sick and may not live out the year. Don't really know what to think about this one...

Monday Night

You may remember some time ago a whole ton of old WWE tv tapes were donated to me by Grizz and I was going through them and making a compilation tape of the good and the bad of WWE. I got about 5 hours through volume 1 and kinda abandoned the project as I had a bunch more old tapes donated by Tex and the project got a little overwhelming. Well, before Raw last night myself and Grizz watched most of what I had done and now I want to keep the project going. the only issue is I don't know which of the old tapes I've gone through and which I haven't. But I think I'm going to give it a go.

Also, kudos to Grizz for nailing the explosion count in the trailer for The Marine.

Raw was a pretty awesome show last night too.

Elephant's Memory - A Touching Story

In 1986, Mkele Mbembe was on holiday in Kenya after graduating fromcollege. On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephantstanding with one leg raised in the air.The elephant seemed distressed so Mbembe approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant's foot, and found alarge thorn deeply embedded in it.

As carefully and as gently as he could, Mbembe worked the thorn out withhis hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man and with a rather stern look on itsface, stared at him. For several tense moments Mbembe stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephanttrumpeted loudly, turned and walked away.

Mbembe never forgot that elephant or the events of that day. Twentyyears later he was walking through a zoo with his teenaged son. As theyapproached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walkedover to near where Mbembe and his son Tapu were standing.

The large bullelephant stared at Mbembe and lifted its front foot off the ground, thenput it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.Remembering the encounter in 1986, Mbembe couldn't help wondering if this was the same elephant.

Mbembe summoned up his courage, climbed over therailing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to theelephant and stared back in wonder.

Suddenly the elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of the man's legs and swung himwildly back and forth along the railing, killing him.

Probably wasn't the same elephant

ECW on Global 08/18/06 Review

Show opens with Paul Heyman announcing that Kurt Angle will not compete in tonights #1 contender ladder-match due to injury.

Mick Foley promo - Foley says he will get mutilated at Summerslam but will be able to look himself in the mirror. He brings out Kelly Kelly amd Melina for a '3 way dance.' Flair appears and beats down Foley and says he will quit. I hate the cross promotion.

Shannon Moore vingette, saying "question authority."

CM Punk def. Justing Credible - Slooppy sloppy sloppy. Punk wins with the Anaconda vice but it was very ugly at times.

Rene Dupree vingette, says once again he will be the most extreme athlete in ECW. Very.... gay.

Test & Mike Knox (w/Kelly) def. The FBI - Pretty much a squash, Test pins Mamaluke after the TKO. Post-match, Sandman and Dreamer hit the ring and chase off Knox and Test.

Sabu video package.

Kurt Angle attempts to attack Paul Heyman in the back due to being pulled from the main event. Heymans riot police drag him off.

Sabu def. Rob Van Dam in a #1 contender ladder match - This was fun but also very sloppy. A lot of the work on this show just didn't seem to click. The finish came as the Big Show hit the ring and drops Van Dam to the floor through a table. Show asks for the contract to be lowered so he can grab it but Sabu attempts to hit a huracanrana and manages to sit on Shows shoulders long enough to grab the contract before being powerbombed. Show is angry and powerbombs both men. Horrible horrible finish.

Kevin Federline Mm Hm Yeah....

Flipping the channels last night and we caught Kevin Federlines performance on The Teen Choice Awards or whatever the hell it was. It was fucking awful. Even Chantal who is very gracious and gives things a chance before she passes judgement said it was brutal.

And Paula Abdul was totally high... I'm surprised they didn't pull the clip and play it on Stern this morning.

Inquiry

Does anyone have a clip or a torrent of Show vs. Sabu from last night? It's pretty much the only thing I wanted to see.

Laundry

It's like fate doesn't want me to do laundry. Every time I've gone down there with my basket for 3 days someone has been in there already. And now one machine is out of order so my chances are cut in half. I'm gonna be wearing a burlap sack pretty damn soon.....

Pink Ribbons

It was kind of a surreal morning for me. I walked out my apartment door to head to work and ended up in the middle of the walk to end breast cancer. I had to go down one street that was on the route. To be honest, I felt kinda guilty to be walking among them while folks were honking and waving. I felt like I should have been walking with them as someone very close to me that I love more then just about anything's life has been affected by cancer. It was a very intense feeling.

Speaking of surreal, on Big Brother All Stars it appeared Erika won HOH on Thursday but they deemed some technical difficulties and re-played the competition. And surprise surprise Janelle fucking won again.... She put up Erika and Danni as I suspected. With the new Coup De' Tat thingy it should be an interesting week.

It's starting to sink in that I'm going to turn 30 in just a few weeks. When I was younger I didn't think I was going to make it this far so I guess so far so good.

I'm on a mood to write but I have nothing to say so I guess I'll cut it. Braden is coming over tommorow, I am SO excited as I haven't seen him in a few weeks. I will cherish every second.

Hopefully Howards vacation is only 1 week and they are back in the morning.

Everything that is wrong....

...with the world today.

Saturday

Pretty packed evening for little ol' me. I may have found a new hackey sack partner, although I don't think I'll be successful at "roller hack."

Drinks with some work friends last night, wouldn't be complete without a Robert Satchmo urine story.

"I will follow you into the dark" by Deathcab for Cutie is a great song, so is the new one by City and Color.

A Tremendous Gesture.....

In the spirit of employee/employer relations, I have decided to give Vittorino his own blog post:

In the spirit of supervisor/supervisor wannabe(Boris), he has decided to let me post my own blog. Knowing full well that this goes everything against my blogging/myspace/nexopia morals, i will grant him his special request and type this nonsense to you readers. The end.

p.s Once upon a time there was a young strapping lad named, Todd. He was a very jovial boy who longed to go to work everyday he could. But unbeknownst to Todd, his very odd and always angry supervisor despised him. This very angry supervisors name was George. George would tell Todd about his haunting past including those of the dreaded rice patties and the history of the Ramones. One day George gave Todd a tiger superplex off Big Joe, and Todd was never seen again. Some say he was burned into ashes by the ferocity of Georges' superplex but others say Todd turned into a creamy little substance, which George ate and said to himself "mmm little asian treat." Fin.

Well, that was..... Interesting.

Who's No. 1?

By Louie Dee
August 10, 2006

Tuesday night on
ECW on Sci Fi, the No. 1 Contender to the ECW World Title will finally be determined. Kurt Angle, Sabu and Rob Van Dam will compete in a No. 1 Contender Triple Threat Ladder Match, with the winner going on to face Big Show for the ECW World Title at SummerSlam.

This past Tuesday, Angle and Sabu squared off in a No. 1 Contender Match, but it was interrupted by the shocking return of Van Dam. Back from his 30-day suspension, RVD attacked both men with a chair, rendering the match a No Contest. Many were surprised that he would attack long-time friend and partner Sabu, but apparently the quest for revenge and gold outweighs the alliance between the two Extremists.

Obviously, RVD is looking to regain the ECW World Title that he feels was stolen from him on July 4, and now he is one step closer to that opportunity. Of course, it’s an opportunity Angle and Sabu both covet as well, and now they may have the extra added motivation of paying RVD back for his actions.

Big Show said last Tuesday night that it doesn’t matter who the No. 1 Contender is, because he will “crush them like crackers for (his) soup.” On Tuesday night, three men will be one step away from becoming the proverbial fly in his SummerSlam soup.

What will be the outcome? Will Angle head to SummerSlam with a chance to become the second man to ever hold the WWE, WCW and ECW Championships? Will Van Dam get a chance to regain what he feels should still be his? Or will Sabu get the chance that he’s been denied of three weeks in a row? Find out Tuesday night at 10/9 CT when ECW on Sci Fi is live from Washington, D.C.

ECW on Sci Fi 08/08/06 Review

Not sure if this is the episode that will air on Global this Friday so I decided to watch it early.

Mike Knox def. Tommy Dreamer - Dreamer is still visibly injured from last week. After overcoming an early beatdown, Tommy takes over on Knox untill Paul Heyman and his riot police dudes hit ringside. Heyman distracts the referee as the other 2 destroy Dreamer on the floor, toss him back into the ring for a pin by Knox.

After the match the trio are poised to continue the beatdown on Tommy but the Sandmans music hits and he heads to ringside to protect him. Heyman tells Jimmy he loves Dreamer like his own son and asks the referees to take him away for medical attention... He then tells Sandman he will be in a handicap match tonight which leads to:

Mike Knox and Test def. Sandman by DQ - Sandman gets double teamed early on but uses his tremendous arial skills to take over and gets DQ'd after using the cane on his opponents.

Video package for Sabu and a pre-taped promo where he says he will get what he wants after he defeats Kurt Angle tonight. Dripping with Charisma...

Balls Mahoney vingette talking about how he loves ECW.....

Kevin Thorn def. Al Snow - Watchable match that started with a lot of intensity. I hate the gimmick but Thorn pulled out a few cool moves and got the win with the Razors Edge.

Pre-tape from Kurt Angle saying Sabu is suicidal for getting in the ring with him tonight.

Renee Dupree pre-tape, saying he will be the most extreme athlete in ECW. Ok....

Big Show comes out in a suit, says he wants to bring some dignity to ECW and no one can beat him.. Very odd promo.

CM Punk vingette thanking the fans from his debut last week and next week he will compete again.

Kurt Angle nc. Sabu - Really great match showcasing the best of both guys. Late-going Angle has Sabu in the ankle lock and who should appear but Rob Van Dam. He nails Angle, checks on Sabu in the corner, who gives him the thumbs up and then BOOM! Skateboards the chair into Sabus face. Celebrates in the ring, end of show.

Not a bad episode, I liked Van Dams return and the possibility of Sabu vs. RVD vs. Angle. I also like that they did not rely on a Raw or Smackdown guy for the main event.

Clean

I need to do a good cleaning of my apartment. It's not gross or anything but now is as good a time as any. Maybe Thursday morning/afternoon.

ECW on Sci Fi 08/01/06 Review

Test and Mike Knox def. Sandman and Tommy Dreamer - Entrances were way too long but it was a pretty fun brawl. My only concern watching this match was that this is what WWE believes ECW was all about but they counter-balanced it well with what came later in the show. After Sandman and Knox battled to the back, Paul Heyman and his riot police appeared and shoved Tommy into a barbed wire board in the corner leading to a TKO from Test for the win. It was fun to watch.

Sabu confronts Heyman in the back and says he wants Big Show. Heyman says not this week, not ever.

CM Punk def. Justin Credible - They handled Punks debut well and he was over with the NY crowd just like I thought he'd be. Credible got a lot of offence in but Punk takes the match by submission.

Batista video package... He's the Animal, we know... blah blah blah...

Back from commercial and the Brooklyn Brawler is in the ring. Says he's too extreme for RAW, too hardcore for Smackdown and he will be ECW champion. Out comes...

Kurt Angle def. Brooklyn Brawler - Squash. Obviously.

Vampire vingette, apparently his name is Kevin Thorne. I hate it.

Batista def. Big Show by DQ - Both are booed heavily by the fans, including chants of "you both suck" and "change the channel." Match was blah, Show gets dq'd after hittin Dave with the belt. After the match Sabu runs in and hits show with a couple of Arabian Facebusters untill Show falls off the ring apron through a table.

This weeks episode gave me hope for the 'new' ECW. There is talk of giving them there own tv taping and I think that can make a big difference is asthetics and just the overall feel of the show as the fans were "off the charts" as Taz would say.

On tonights episode (It's on Global in a day or 2 I think) it's Sabu vs. Angle.

Heritage Days

Went to check out Heritage Days today. It was hot and crowded but very cool. If I may be philosophical for a moment, if more cities did something similar to what they do here then maybe.... Just maybe there would be a little more tolerance in our world.

I watched about 30 seconds of RAW on The Score tonight and I fucking hate the ticker. Just blitz that thing, even just for the original Monday night broadcast.

I had pretty fun days off, Spent one with my man Tex, a night out at (ugh) Santanas and then the last couple with Chantal, Jonny, Mel and Benny... All in all I can go back to work tommorow knowing I had a good time with my days off.

V for Vendetta

Watched the movie yesterday and I'll be honest... I have no idea what the fuck it's about ;-)

WHOO!!

FORMER boy band and reality TV star Nick Lachey was besieged by autograph hunters when he landed at Melbourne Airport today to promote his new album What's Left of Me.Lachey, better known as the former spouse of pop diva Jessica Simpson, said he was surprised by the welcome. But he was not as surprised as the 50-plus autograph hunters who had been waiting at the airport since early morning for World Wrestling Entertainment stars, Ric Flair, the Edge and raw John Cena.

"Is that why they're here," Lachey said after posing with the group.Lachey, while not a wrestling fan himself, is a fan and friend of The Edge (Adam Copeland)."I didn't know Adam was coming," he said.Relaxed and casual in a red satin tracksuit, black jacket and trademark cap, Lachey told reporters he was concentrating on his music for the moment and had no plans for another reality TV show.

"I will do some more TV but it will be the scripted variety," he said.Lachey, a former member of boy band 98 Degrees, and Simpson starred in reality series The Newlyweds, which followed the first 18 months of their marriage. The couple split in November 2005 and finalised their divorce last month.Lachey is now reported to be dating MTV host Vanessa Minnillo, who will not accompany him on his Australian tour."I haven't been here for six years so I didn't know what to expect when I got off the plane, this is an awesome response," Lachey said as the wrestling fans and other onlookers flocked around him.

Lachey will spend the first four days of his week-long Australian tour in Melbourne where he will perform live on the Channel 7's It Takes Two final tomorrow night and Rove Live on Channel 10on Tuesday night.Sony BMG publicity spokeswoman Fiona Opai said the singer would appear on a couple of radio spots before going to Sydney where his diary includes a boat cruise with the winner of a 2DAY FM competition.

"I'm not sure exactly what's planned, but lots of work I think," Lachey said when asked about his trip."We're going to wing it while we're here, but I am a big (American) football fan so we may get down to see an (AFL) match."Meanwhile WWE fans Shane and Mark Simons were part of the large crowd of WWE fans who swamped Lachey when he arrived.

"He seems okay," Shane said."But we're not here to see Nick Lachey - we really want to see the wrestlers."The WWE stars are in Melbourne for the World Wrestling Event's Raw's SummerSlam Tour at the Rod Laver Arena tonight.

Jeff Hardy

Apparently WWE has re-signed Jeff Hardy. Very interesting to say the least....

Quick Book Review

Hardcore History - The Extremely Unauthroized Story of ECW by Scott E. Williams

I'm not good at reviewing things, it's hard to organize my thoughts so bear with me.

Loved the book, it covers a lot of things casual fans don't know such as how ECW evolved from Joel Goodhearts Tri-State Wrestling Alliance, Todd Gordons controversial departure, where all the money was going (and came from) etc...

It covers the atmosphere at Shane Douglas' Hardcore Homecoming show (which I thought sucked other then the main event, I'll have to go watch it again)

I particualrly enjoyed the chapter on the infamous Mass Transit incident as some new details came to light I wasn't aware of. I've only ever seen the match online, I recently got ahold of a tape of it that is sitting in my huge pile of "stuff to watch." Going to sit down an examine it, for lack of a better word.

Anyway, the book goes into great detail of people, places things and incidents. Does a great jon of praising Paul Heyman for his creative abilities and burying him for his business sense. I give it 4.5 out of 5. Go buy it.

Down Time

I have a little bit of time off from work and not much to do... Got some books to read and stuff to watch, you may see a review or 2 on the blog over the next day or so.

Is there a ppv Sunday?

Thursday

TNA and Big Brother are both on at 9 tonight. Good thing I hooked up the other tv so I can watch one and tape the other. Now I just have to decide.

Myspace

Everyone seems to have a fucking myspace... It's very alluring but I like blogger and Myspace looks confusing, is it?

The new computer desk and coffee table look great (Thanks Chantal!) Can't fit my stereo in there now ao I'll have to pick up some new computer speakers next payday. And in the meantime I need to find a place to put the stereo and the cd changer. Maybe in the bedroom.

I think on one of my days off coming up I'm going to clean up the balcony and get rid of some of the shit out there and put the chairs back. I have a pretty decent view and I never go out there.

Big Brother 7 slop is "nutritionally fortified porridge mix

Earlier, I identified the Big Brother 7 “slop” food as oatmeal. Instead, it’s “a just-add-water, nutritionally fortified porridge mix,” according to TV Week, which investigated the food. I was wrong, and I regret the error and the implication that producers just chose oatmeal instead of something so much more complex and fascinating.

The houseguests are allowed to prepare this product any way they like, just as long as they don’t add other foods to it. They may, however, use condiments, as long as they come from an approved list. Those allowed condiments are, according to TV Week:

“balsamic vinegar, olive oil, red wine vinegar, rice vinegar, vegetable oil, hot sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, relish, salsa, soy sauce, steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, black pepper, garlic salt, crushed red pepper, salt, vanilla, basil, bay leaves, cinnamon, leaf oregano, paprika, parsley, rosemary, brown sugar, artificial sweetener, powdered creamer, white sugar, tea and protein powder.”

The site also unearthed the full ingredients, if you’d like to buy something similar or try to make your own, although who knows if all these chemicals are commercially available. The ingredients are as follows:

“Natural oats, proprietary blend of whey protein concentrate, soy protein isolate, wheat protein isolate, milk protein isolate, natural and artificial flavors, vitamins and minerals (vitamin A palmitate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin, vitamin D3, alpha tocopherol, niacin, biotin, pantothenic acid, calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, copper gluconate, manganese sulfate, ferrous sulfate, folic acid, potassium iodide), cellulose gum, salt and acesulfame potassium.”

Executive producer Alison Grodner takes credit for changing the punishment food to this porridge. Oh, Alison! So creative! She also told TV Week that she and other producers tested it first and farted as a result. “I ate it for a meal. We all did around here before it got to them,” she said, “so I can only imagine it after eating it for a week.” She adds, “It’s really bland, but because it’s got protein it’s got a bit of an aluminum taste.”

I hooked up the webcam again, there is a graphic to the right of the screen that says when it's online. Not sure why just because I guess....
