Capital Ex

Went to Capital Ex last night, had a great time. It really filled the Stampede void quite nicely. The kids really seemed to enjoy it, especially my big kid ;-)

The only thing I can't figure out is how the dogs do those fireworks.....

Worst Match of All Time

For years now I have told people that the worst match I've ever seen was "The Genius" Lanny Poffo vs. Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. Unfortunatly I don't have a date but I'm pretty sure it's very early 90's.

Anyway, I have changed my vote and the new worst match is the New Japan "Island Deathmatch" featuring Hiro Hase vs. Tiger Jeet Singh.

The write-up on the tape says:
New Japan counter the first Jungle Death Match with the Island Deathmatch.

Hiroshi Hase regarded as one of the best wrestlers in New Japan faces Tiger Jeet Singh, a legend of hardcore wrestling brutality. The two men ride boats an island where a ring has been set up. There are no fans, just cameramen and two wrestlers bent on destrying each other.

What I got was what felt like 2 hours of absolute shit. A chinlock held for 10 minutes, so much walking a punching I wanted to gouge out my eyes...

Anyway, check it out if you can. I dare you :-)

Big Brother 7

I missed Tuesdays episode because a power outage screwed up my VCR. They've been advertising that you can watch full episodes on CBS.com so I headed over there to watch Tuesdays show and all I got were commercials for CBS shows looped over and over. Boo.

Now I won't get to see Chicken George make all kinds of sacrifices for the veto. Luckily for me I got a great recap explanation.

ECW on Sci Fi 07/25/06 Review

Show opens with Mike Knox and Kelly in the ring. Knox says Kelly can't take her clothes off anymore and he didn't abandon her last week after she was caned by the Sandman. Which leads to...

Sandman def. Mike Knox by DQ - Kelly enters the ring to try and shield Knox from cane shots from Sandman, Test enters and he and Knox beat down the Sandman. 1:15 of.... blah.

Backstage Test and Knox discuss their unstoppableness untill they are attacked by a trash-can-wielding Tommy Dreamer.

Also backstage, Sabu is "talking" with Paul Heyman. Sabu wants a title match against the Big Show but Heyman says he won't make the match... ever. Paul E. tells Sabu to take the night off. In the corner Little Guido is taping up when Heyman approaches him saying he heard Guido muttering something under his breath. Heyman has his riot-police security dudes beat up Guido and drag him to the ring because his match is NEXT!

The Vampire guy who I don't think has a name yet def. Little Guido - Basically a squash, finished off by a razors edge.

CM Punk promo... Says he lived on the street and fought for everything he ever got and he debuts next week.

Justin Credible def. Balls Mahoney by DQ - The odd push of Balls continues in a watchable match that had moments of sucktitude.... Credible gets the dq win after getting pasted by a chair in a non extreme rules match...

Backstage Show asks Heyman why he can't take on Sabu. Heyman says Show needs to worry about Kane.

Kurt Angle returns next week.

Big Show def. Kane - Was built similar to the Ric Flair match.. It built to a pretty hot finish. Kane was taking it to the Big Show with his usual offence untill Heyman pulls the ref out of the ring in a pinning attempt allowing Show to grab a chair and nail Kane with it. Chokeslam on said chair and that's it.

Sabu appears out of nowhere (kinda) and hit Show with a Van-Terminator of sorts off the top to end the show.

Sloan's New Record

One of my favorite times every couple of years has finally come. Sloan have released the first single from their upcoming album.

Track is called "Who taught you to live that?" It's a Jay and it's very cool, almost a 70's kinda feel to it.

The record is called "Never Hear The End Of It" and will hit stores in Canada on September 19th. I'm excited.

Taste of Edmonton

Last night Chantal took Jonny and I to Taste of Edmonton. I'd never been before so I didn't know what to expect but it was really cool. Churchill Square is really nice, there were 2 stages with music and lots of great food. I had a really great time.

Liver

What the hell is going on with Smackdown's livers? So far Lashley, Khali and now Super Crazy are all out with liver problems and Kid Kash has been suspended for what looks like a violation of the "wellness" policy. Weird.

Big Show vs. Kane on ECW this Tuesday... My soul is slowly dying.

G.A.B.

Anyone tape the Bash ppv last night?

Tex

Make no mistake ladies and gentlemen, Tex Gaines is a very intelligent man. He has shown me my mistakes and has tried to push me in the direction I want to go in...

Thanks Tex, I appreciate what you had to say tonight.

Hey Moks

I agree with you. I have several Numan songs on my MP3 player and everytime one comes on it takes me back to many different times and to many different places. Some of the best written and crafted music that the masses have never heard.

He's playing Toronto and Montreal in August... Damn I wish he'd come out here.

ECW on Global

WWE has secured a TV deal for the ECW brand in Canada. ECW will begin airing on Canada's Global Television Network on 8/11 at midnight. The show will also air on the Xtreme digital channel on Saturdays at 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM as well as Sundays at 4:00 AM.

The deal also gets RAW and Smackdown on in Quebec. Global will now air RAW starting August 7th at midnight on CKMI and Smackdown starting August 11th at 12:30AM ET on CJNT.

Medium?!

This is a fucking medium? Look how it is aptly dwarfed by the Michael Jackson DVD. A medium? I thing someone is funnin' me...

Solid score for The Score as TV network lands WWE's Monday Night RAW

TORONTO (CP) - World Wrestling Entertainment found a new Canadian tag-team partner Wednesday as the company announced its flagship show, Monday Night RAW, would be moving to The Score television network.
TSN's 11-year run as host of RAW will end when the show moves to The Score on Aug. 7. The Score will also move its WWE show SmackDown - currently the top-rated show on the network - from Thursday to Friday night.

RAW has been a steady ratings machine for TSN for years, especially in the 1990's when the sports entertainment business enjoyed a surge in popularity thanks to performers like (Stone Cold) Steve Austin and The Rock. The business has cooled somewhat since then, but the Canadian market has remained strong.
TSN averaged a solid 375,000 viewers for RAW this year, a six-per-cent jump from last year. But last fall the network secured exclusive Canadian rights to air NFL games on Monday nights. That opened the door for The Score, which does not have the same reach as TSN but is still available in almost six million Canadian homes.
RAW was occasionally bumped a few hours or even into the next day's programming in the past. The Score general manager David Errington said the show will get a consistent 10 p.m. time slot.

"There shouldn't be a pre-emption whatsoever and that was really key to getting the deal done," Errington said.
The WWE brought out some of its top performers for the news conference, including world champion and Orangeville, Ont., native Edge, Richmond Hill, Ont., native Trish Stratus and the legendary Ric Flair.

"We are at the point in this industry, in television and in sports entertainment where we don't have to take a back seat to anybody," Flair said. "The Score has come up and said, 'We're going to put you guys where you need to be.' We'll still be on Monday night and in our eyes that's a big coup for us."

A few hundred fans braved the heat and piercing sunshine for a spot near the red carpet to catch a glimpse of the performers outside the downtown theatre. The loudest cheers were for Flair, who is still going strong in the squared circle at the age of 57. With his ring entrance music blaring, the 16-time world champion treated the crowd to his trademark 'Whoooooooo!,' before entering the building.

RAW is the top-rated program on specialty TV in Canada. DeMarco said that was a big reason why several Canadian networks were in contact with WWE over the last few months.

"It really came down to scheduling," he said. "We really left (TSN) on good terms together and we've got a lot of respect for each other. We had a great relationship over the years."

RAW will be recorded an hour before it's aired on The Score, which will allow the network to give the show a consistent time slot. It also means The Score doesn't have to worry about its live programming limit since the show is taped and allows for an hour of editing time if the programming - which offers everything from bikini to steel cage matches - proves to be too intense.

Errington said some scenes could be edited out if the network is uncomfortable.
"We have to be responsible as a broadcaster," he said. "But we've had SmackDown for six years and I don't think we've had more than five complaints. So I'm not too concerned about it."
A WWE spokesperson said the company is close to announcing a deal to air its new ECW program in Canada. Errington said it won't be on The Score.

"We've got our fill of wrestling and we've got the No. 1 wrestling show and that's what we wanted," Errington said. "We targeted RAW, we got it and we're airing it at a consistent time slot on Mondays. We're done."
The Score also plans to air a one-hour wrestling analysis show on Sunday evenings. Both RAW and SmackDown will be repeated after each week's broadcast (RAW at 12:30 a.m, SmackDown at midnight). The Score will also air the WWE Diva Search Finals on Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

Ok, so good news is that someone in Canada has picked up ECW, bad news is that RAW is now on ticker-happy Score. Oh well, take the good with the bad.

Joel Siegel Didn't Like Clerks...

July 19, 2006 -- DON'T joke about women, donkeys and bestiality if you expect Joel Siegel to watch your movie. That's what director Kevin Smith found out when the pun-loving "Good Morning America" film critic stormed out of a press screening of Smith's "Clerks II," which opens Friday - an act that's sparked a vicious war of words between the two."Time to go!" roared Siegel to his fellow critics. "First movie I've walked out of in 30 [bleeping] years!"

His tirade came 40 minutes into the long-awaited Weinstein Company sequel to Smith's 1994 cult classic about two foul-mouthed Long Island convenience store clerks who razz customers and goof off.In the scene that sent Siegel to the exit, the characters graphically discuss hiring a woman to perform sexual favors on a donkey.

Siegel told Page Six: "It was so foul and mean and repulsive. I finally realized I could not say anything positive . . . I wasn't ready for this kind of smut . . . I hope he doesn't make any more movies."

An apoplectic Smith fired back on his MySpace blog: "Getting a bad review from Siegel is like a badge of honor. This is the guy who stole his mustachioed-critic shtick from Gene Shalit years ago, and still refuses to give it back. This is a guy who seemingly prides himself on his own nyuk-nyuk wordplay. For 'Pirates 2,' he made us all titter with 'Yo, Ho, Ho and a Bottle of Fun' . . .

He made us squeal with delight when he wrote, 'Wheelie Good Time for "Cars." ' I mean, Fozzy [bleeping] Bear laughs at this guy."And there's more: "I don't need Joel Siegel to [bleep] my [bleep] the way he apparently [bleeps] M. Night Shyamalan's, gushing over his flick ['The Lady in the Water'] before he's even seen it, but [bleep] man, man - how about a little common [bleeping] courtesy? You never, never disrupt a movie, simply because you don't like it. Cardinal rule of moviegoing: Shut your [bleeping] mouth while the movie's playing."I don't come down to your job and slap the taste out of your mouth for coming up with a line like, ' "Shark Tale" Is a Halibut Good Time' - so don't [bleep] with my stuff while it's still screening . . .

What are you, a 12-year-old boy cutting loose with your pals at a Friday night screening of 'Scary Movie' 4' while your parents are in a theater down the hall watching 'The Devil Wears Prada'? Leave the diva-like behavior and drama-queen antics to the movie stars, not the movie reviewer, ya' rude-ass [bleep]."

ECW on Sci Fi 07/18/06 Review

Show opens with Kellys Expose which is as usual broken up by Mike Knox which leads to:

Mike Knox def. The Sandman - On the floor, Knox pulls Kelly in front of a cane shot by Sandman. Low blows in the ring by Knox... 1,2,3. Not great.

"The Reject" Shannon Moore shown in the back staring at the camera.

Paul Heyman promo - rehashes what he said last week which brings Tommy Dreamer to the ring. Dreamer says Pauley owes he and the fans and explanation. After a dramatic pause Heyman kisses Dreamer (?) and Test runs in and demolishes Tommy. WTF.

Balls Mahoney vingette similar to last week.

Sabu def. Stevie Richards - A non-extreme rules match designed to prove Sabu can wrestle with the best of them. A solid match I enjoyed, Sabu gets the victory with the camel clutch.

CM Punk vingette talking about how he has trained all over the world and has many styles and immense discipline. Debut him already, he is saving my love of this show!

Vampire vingette talking about Show vs. 'Taker. Ariel draws the death card.

Big Show nc. The Undertaker - Not great but watchable considering the sources. Match goes to a NC after the Great Khali interferes and Show and Khali double chokeslam 'Taker through the announce table.

I give the show a 6.

It's becoming increasingly evident that the purpose of ECW as of now anyway is to further Raw and Smackdown storylines. Blah.

Days gone by...

Lots of things going on in the past little while...

-Friday was quarterly bonus day so I bought myself a new tv. It's a 42" Samsung and it's pretty awesome. I got a great deal on it (Thanks Kellerrrrr) because it was serviced at our depot so I'm pretty happy about it.

-Saturday we went to Mel and Bennys for supper. I really like going over there, they are good people. Played some cards, and I learned a little bit watching Benny change brake pads. Benny has a man's man garage, complete with old liscence plates and a swimsuit girl calander from 1994. I hope he gets his old car fixed up so he can put the '68 plates on it like we talked about.

-Sunday some of the guys came by for the TNA ppv... It was a decent show I guess, the review is below.

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 7/15/06 Review

Hulk Hogan Promo w/ Brooke Hogan - He's glad to be here blah blah blah. Orton hits the ring and challenges him for SummerSlam.

Rey Mysterio ©, Batista and Lashley def. Finlay ©, King Booker and Mark Henry - Match basically built to a tag to Batista who destroyed everyone and hits the Batista bomb on Booker for the win.

Carlito and Trish def. Johnny Nitro © and Melina - Decent fun little match. I really like the pairing of Trish and Carlito.

DX (HHH and HBK) def. The Spirit Squad (Kenny, Johnny, Mikey, Nicky and Mitch) - Vince added a wrinkle to the match that if you are pinned and eliminated you are put in a little "holding cell" cage next to the ring. Basically a squash, dX destroys everyone and eventually Vince gets superkicked into the cell by Shawn Michaels. Very anti-climatic.

Promo with Great Khali, Big Show and Undertaker - Hypes the GAB match and Show challenges 'Taker to an ECW title match on Tuesday night. (What are they trying to do to me!!)

Extreme Rules Match: Sabu def. Stevie Richards - Basic Sabu squash but he needs to measure distance a little better because these arabian facebusters he's trying to finish matches with look like shit.

Orton RKO's Hogan in the parking lot after being shoo'd away from Brooke.

Diva bull-riding. Who gives a fuck.

John Cena def. Edge by DQ - Seemed a lot shorter then the 8 minutes it actually was. A standard Cena/Edge match which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Edge gets DQ'd after Lita pulls Chioda out of the ring during a pin attempt and slaps him. After the match Cena hits the FU on Edge off the ring steps through the announce table.

I give this show a 6.

TNA Victory Road Review

Preshow:
Johnny Devine w/ Alex Shelley def. Shark Boy - Nice to see Devine in a role other then Team Canada, he gets the win with a brainbuster. Nothing special.

PPV Show:
The Naturals w/ Shane Douglas def. The Diamonds in the Rough w/ Simon Diamond - Shane Douglas introduced the "new" Naturals... I haven't watched much TNA lately so I don't really remember the old Naturals. They get the win after a top rope dropkick. After the match Douglas got in the face of his new team, Tenay explained this as they won but it wasn't good enough.

Rhino vs. Monty Brown - I don't get Monty Brown, and I don't think I ever will. They brawled in the ring and then to the floor and in the crowd and all over the building untill the match was called a double DQ or countout or whatever.... Sucked.

Homicide & Hernandez w/ Konnan def. Sonjay Dutt & Ron Killings - After interference from Konnan, Hernandez nailed Dutt with a powerbomb for the win. Lots of high impact stuff made for a fun match.

At this point, Team Canada came to the ring to disband. I'm not sure the angle as I haven't watched much TNA lately but it seems Eric Young was to blame as he took a lot of heat from his teammated but the crowed LOVED him. This was fucking LOOOOOOONG. Way too long.

Senshi def. Frankie Kazarian - Senshi gets the win after the top-rope double stomp in a match I really liked. Good to see Low Ki back.

Raven def. Larry Zbyszko in a Hair vs. Hair Match - Didn't really watch this one but I assume it sucked and the haircut took forever.

Chris Sabin & Jay Lethal def. Kevin Nash & Alex Shelley - This was a rerally fun match and Nash was used in a way where he would be involved but not drag down the workrate. I really liked it.

The James Gang & Abyss def. Team 3D - A really fun brawl to watch, SPike almost got killed during the crowd surfing spot. Abyss tossed him into the crowd and after surfing for a minute or 2 he was dumped back into the ringside area and it looked like he hit his head on the steps. It was also fun watching Buh Buh try and staple a sign that saud "ECW fears TNA" to Abyss' head. Spike was horribly put through a table with a Black Hole Slam by Abyss for the finish.

AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, & Sirelda def. America's Most Wanted & Gail Kim - This one was good but it could have ben great. They just didn't click and Sirelda is pretty brutal, anyone know anything about her?

Sting def. Christian Cage, Samoa Joe and Scott Steiner - Jerrett threw "gasoline" in Stings eyes and he disappeared for a while only to make the trimphant return with bandaged eyes to pull Cage off Steiner and get the pin. Decent I guess.

I give the show a 6.5.

Superman's a dick!

Almost bed time

I love when "Greatest Sports Disasters" is on TLC.... Not sure why, I guess I just like watching brawls :-)

Hey Jill, I guess I should warn you when I am closing at work so I don't read your comment that spoils the end of the Big Brother episode I was gonna watch when I get home. No worries though sis.

I'll watch it anyway :-)

Some movies and stuff

The trailer for Jackass 2 is up here. It looks too funny, I can't wait.

Also, word is circulating that the bad guy in the next Rush Hour film will be none other then Jean Claude Van Damme. That sound you hear is my crest falling.

Had a great night last night, first time I've felt good in a while. Thank you.

Stuff

Apparently Darryl Sutter is stepping down as coach of the Calgary Flames to concentrate on General Manager duties.... Jim Playfair will be his replacement.

Not sure what to think of this, big fan of Sutter as the coach but the moves he's made as GM speak for themselves.

Next Seasons Flames schedule is here
Nest Seasons Oilers schedule is here

Been reading a lot of blogs lately.... Had a lot of time alone and I'm trying to fill it up as best as I can. I skim through blogger blogs by clicking the "next blog" button in the top right corner and I read all of my friends, as well as just people I know.

Been reading my friends and I had a few comments:

Moks: When did you start at HMV and how did that come about? And what happened to the gigs at the P&W?

Matt: Good luck with the poker but be careful, this is real life.

Shigs: How was She Wants Revenge? I hated them at first but they are growing on me a little.

Jesus: Sorry about Portugal, that must have sucked for you.

Fleets: I'm not sure how I feel about another prosperity check... As a parent I'd like to see that money pumped into schools and things like that to give my child more advantages, but a check for $400 would be nice. The surplus is what, $8 billion? Why not do both....

Cleaned the hell out of my bedroom today, threw out a lot of stuff and took a lot of clothes to the 2nd hand store.

It's really hot in here and this little fan isn't really cutting it.

Inked on A&E is a good show, I dig it.

ECW on Sci Fi 07/11/06

-Show opened with a promo from Paul E saying he would be ECW's messiah. Awesome delivery but it looked like the fans had no idea what the hell he was talking about.

-Test def. Tommy Dreamer. Better then it had any right to be, I was quite surprised. Test gets the win with the feet on the ropes.

-Vingette with the tarot card reader and the Vampire. Pull the trigger already!

-Kelly and Candice dance.... Joey Styles said it best: "This is getting redundant." Mike Knox did his usual interruption and got caned by the Sandman.

-CM Punk promo. I am pumped to see him start working, and I'm glad they haven't really changed his gimmick or anything. Talked about how all his tattoos have a meaning.

-Justin Credible def. Sabu by DQ. NOT an extreme rules match but Sabu doesn't care!! Sabu leg drops Justin through a tabe to get dq'd. Really dumb and lame.

-Big Show def. Ric Flair. I thought this would suck and for the first half I was right but they really built to something special with Flair pulling out the 'extreme' stops to try and get the win... It will tie in nicely with the Foley Angle.

I now return myself to my regularly scheduled laundry and cleaning.

Big Brother Ratings

Big Brother 7 debut loses viewers from previous seasons

Familiar faces inside the Big Brother 7 house have not resulted in an increased audience for the show; instead, they’ve actually repelled viewers.

The premiere episode was watched by 7.54 million viewers, which allowed CBS to win the hour on Thursday. But last year, 8.7 million viewers watched the first episode. And a year earlier, for the fifth season, 9.8 million viewers were watching by the show’s second week.

Worse, Big Brother 7’s debut was “down 18% from last year in 18-49 (3.4/11), according to Nielsen. It was also off 24% from two years ago (3.7/13),” Variety reports. Apparently both young people and viewers overall don’t share our obsessive love for the Chenbot and the kingdom she presides over.

Japan

-Kenta Kobashi underwent successful surgery on Friday to remove a right kidney tumor. The doctors performing the surgery stated that they did not see the tumor spread to any other organs in the body, which is a very good sign. The surgery took 5 1/2 hours and was a success.

-Today is the one-year anniversary of Shin'ya Hashimoto's death.

Getting ready to sit down and watch RAW... I will comment if there is anything comment-worthy.

One point... One measely fucking point is what we lost by tonight. I blame Monica Lewinsky for not wearing a black dress when Clinton spunked on her.... Or Stallone for Judge Dredd... Just because.

Monday Night

Good thing there is a reply of RAW tonight at 10 because I can't turn off Hell's Kitchen. An unexpectedly great reality show.

Rain

It's raining, hard. I went outside for a quick stroll through the parking lot because I like walking in the rain sometimes and there was a huge river of water running down the middle of the road behind my parking lot. It was kind of cool.

Stuff and... Well, just stuff

Finished watching ECW Ultra Clash '93 this morning after a walk to the bank. It was a very frenzied show, the kind that really put ECW on the map back in those days. The show went something like this:

Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) defeated Jason Knight and Ian Rotten....
Pennsylvania Heavyweight Title Match: Tony Stetson defeated Tommy Cairo to retain the title....
Mask Versus Mask Match: Super Destroyer #1 defeated Super Destroyer #2 in a "mask vs. mask" match....
Scaffold Match: The Dark Patriot defeated JT Smith in a "scaffold" match.... (This was surprisingly good for a scaffold match.)
Bunkhouse Match: Terry Funk and Stan Hansen defeated Kevin Sullivan and Abdullah the Butcher by Disqualification in a "bunkhouse" match.... (How do you lose a bunkhouse match by dq?)
Battle Royal: Tigra won a "battle royal."....
Strap Match: Sal Bellomo defeated Richard Michaels in a "strap" match....
ECW Heavyweight Title Match: Shane Douglas defeated Sandman to retain the title.... (I love oldschool wetsuit Sandman)
Baseball Bat Match: The Headhunters (A and B) defeated Miguelito Perez and Crash the Terminator in a "baseball bat" match. (This was a really fun brawl all over the place... With those involved I felt like I was watching a W*ing show, but this was obviously waaaay better then W*ing)

I guess I should comment on the boxing match from Saturday... After I reviewed the video it is plain to see Sorochan loaded his glove to knock me out... and it just so happens no one was there from the commission so there was nothing I could do. I have no idea how all the idiot fans in that building could condone and cheer that but as usual Kurt screwed me and you stupid fans loved it.

Big props to Marky Mark and Phoenix Taylor for the match they put on at Night of Champions. It was every bit as good and crazy as I thought it would be. And just as I told Drew Dalby on Team 1260, Phoenix came out on top... Of course that part was edited out of the broadcast in just another example of BBBoris being censored.

Anyway, I digress... Going to make a triumphant return to trivia tonight, should be fun. Just trying to keep busy right now, too much on my mind.

WWE Comments on RVD/Sabu

WWE investigating Rob Van Dam and Sabu charges
By Ed Williams
III
July 3, 2006

In the wake of being faced with five violations,
including drug possession, by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, WWE.com reports
that Rob Van Dam and Sabu arrived at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia at 1:30
p.m. today and immediately went into a meeting with Vice President of Talent
Relations John Laurinaitis.
Following the meeting, Mr. Laurinaitis told
WWE.com that Rob Van Dam and Sabu will be eligible to compete tonight on RAW and tomorrow night
at ECW on Sci Fi
while an ongoing investigation is being conducted by World Wrestling
Entertainment. The two men will be appearing in court Thursday morning at
Ironton Municipal Court.

According to the Ironton Tribune, Rob Van Dam and Sabu were pulled over
on U.S. 52, near Patrick Street in Hanging Rock, Ohio at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday
night. The two were apparently driving from their performances at the Big Sandy
Superstore Arena earlier in the evening.

According to the Ohio State Police, as reported by the Ironton Tribune,
Van Dam was initially stopped for speeding. When troopers approached his
vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a search. Troopers found RVD in
possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills.
Sabu was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills
that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled
substances, according to the OSHP. Both were cited and posted bond at the scene.

From WWE.com. I'm surprised they are talking so matter of factly about this but knowing WWE they will turn this into an angle.

Not feeling so well so I'm just relaxing at home tonight so maybe I'll throw out a comment or 2 on RAW.

Eddie

Just when I thought I had gotten over Eddie I watched the Hall of Fame on the WrestleMania 22 dvd... damn.

Back already

Never seems to be enough time when I'm back in Calgary but we made the most of it and saw my family and enjoyed my sisters wedding. Pictures are to come. Not sure how many I can put up here so I may have to weed through and get the best ones. I had a great time and want to thank everyone that made it possible and worked so hard (including the cake maker, you did an amazing job just as I suspected.)

EDMONTON (CP) -- The Edmonton Oilers granted Chris Pronger his wish Monday, dealing the star defenceman to the Anaheim Ducks for a package featuring young sniper Joffrey Lupul. Also headed to the Oilers are defenceman Ladislav Smid, the ninth overall selection in the 2004 draft, plus Anaheim's first-round draft choice in 2007, a conditional first-round pick and a second-round draft choice in 2008.

Pronger helped lead the Oilers to the Stanley Cup final this season, where they lost in seven games to the Carolina Hurricanes. He then stunned the team by asking for a trade after the final for personal reasons.Pronger signed a $31.25-million US, five-year contract with the Oilers last summer. He'll joins Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer on a potentially dominant blue-line corps."We believe having Chris Pronger join Scott Niedermayer on our blue-line gives us two of the top defencemen in the NHL today," Ducks GM Brian Burke said in a release. "Players of this calibre don't become available very often, especially when they are still in the prime of their career."

Lupul, an Edmonton native, scored 28 goals with 25 assists for the Mighty Ducks last year. The 25-year-old also played a big role in Anaheim's run to the Western Conference final, scoring four goals in Game 3 against Colorado in the second round. He spent the past three years playing in his native Czech Republic.

Well, I guess that takes care of that which leads us to this next bit of news:

In a story reported by The Ironton Tribune today, Rob Van Dam and Sabu were stopped Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and cited for drug possession.

Troopers found RVD in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, while Sabu was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances.

They were both cited and then posted bond. They are scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court. No word on what, if any, punishment will be served up by WWE.

With the new "wellness plan" it will be anyones guess what consequences will take place stemming from this being that the 2 are major components of the company (particularly RVD)
